Pseudocode in the Kitchen
Monday June 9, 2025 9:45am - 10:45am CDT
Grab your apron and step into our kitchen for a one-hour culinary workshop designed to immerse K-5 educators in the art of computational thinking! This session will serve up practical strategies and resources to simplify complex concepts—just like following a recipe. Participants will chop up pseudocode using DUPLO®, savor real-world applications, and discover how to spice up student learning experiences with technology tools like Lumio®. By aligning with the new Technology Application TEKS (TA TEKS), this workshop will empower you to integrate computational thinking across various subject areas. Our culinary creation will be a delicious opportunity to enhance your teaching practices, bring computational thinking to life for your students, and inspire them to think like problem-solving chefs! Bon appétit!

Deep in the Heart: A Micro:bit Musical Road Trip
Monday June 9, 2025 2:00pm - 3:00pm CDT
HOWDY, coders! Saddle up for a musical journey through the heart of Texas, where the Micro:bit takes center stage. In this hands-on workshop, we'll transform the beloved anthem "Deep in the Heart of Texas" into a captivating symphony of light, sound, and motion.  Together, we'll explore the Micro:bit's versatile features – from its dazzling LED display and built-in speaker to its motion-sensing capabilities and integrated microphone – and learn how to orchestrate them using Microsoft MakeCode. No matter your coding experience, you'll discover how to program the Micro:bit to create rhythmic light shows, generate melodies, and even respond to your movements, all synchronized to the iconic Texan tune.  Join us for a collaborative coding experience that blends music, technology, and computational thinking in a uniquely Texan way!

Intro to AI and Machine Learning with Code.org
Tuesday June 10, 2025 11:15am - 12:15pm CDT
