During the session, presenters will decompose recursion into manageable parts to develop a deeper working knowledge of recursion. Participants will walk away with an unplugged activity that can be used in the classroom to help students learn about recursion using physical movement. The unplugged activity from this session can be used by teachers to help students implement recursion into their block or text-based programs.

This session introduces a human-centered approach to teaching generative artificial intelligence (GAI) through ethics-first curricula, aligned with UNESCO’s AI Competency Frameworks for School Students & Teachers. Designed to foster critical thinking and inclusive engagement, this project-based curriculum emphasizes responsible, inclusive access to and development of GAI.
Participants gain hands-on experience with App Inventor — a free, open-source mobile app creation platform developed at MIT that now features GAI components — including sample curricular units focused on fostering a 'human-centered mindset.'.

Computer science is no longer just a program of study; it includes skills that are increasingly a part of every major and discipline. This labor market presentation will focus on job demand in industries and occupations that require computer science skills, including job opportunities in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
