Ethical Generative AI with App Inventor
Tuesday June 10, 2025 11:15am - 12:15pm CDT
This session introduces a human-centered approach to teaching generative artificial intelligence (GAI) through ethics-first curricula, aligned with UNESCO’s AI Competency Frameworks for School Students & Teachers. Designed to foster critical thinking and inclusive engagement, this project-based curriculum emphasizes responsible, inclusive access to and development of GAI.

Participants gain hands-on experience with App Inventor — a free, open-source mobile app creation platform developed at MIT that now features GAI components — including sample curricular units focused on fostering a 'human-centered mindset.'.

The App Inventor Foundation's mission is to empower people across the globe to create apps that improve their lives and uplift their communities.
