WeTeach_CS Summit 2025

Participants will reflect on their practice while using CSTA Standards for CS Teachers while in this session. Through discussion and specific examples, participants will leave this session with a better understanding of the standards and how they can improve their pedagogical practice. This will be a facilitated discussion targeting selected strands in the standards. Participants will reflect on their own practice or what they have seen in computer science classrooms. This session will include new resources from the Reflective Teachers Workgroup. This session is an opportunity for computer science teachers and administrators who support them to engage with CSTA Standards for CS Teachers. In this session, participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their practice and set goals aligned to these standards.

The Technology Applications TEKS Guide provides educators across the state with a common understanding of the revised technology applications standards. The TEA team will explain components within the Technology Applications TEKS Guide, beginning with a complete overview, then brief demonstrations with a few grade levels and courses, and answers to questions as time allows.

In a digital world every industry and occupation is influenced by changes in computer and digital technology. Computer science is no longer just a program of study; it includes skills that are increasingly a part of every major and discipline. This labor market presentation will focus on job demand in industries and occupations that require computer science skills, including job opportunities in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Additional emphasis will be on the need for employability and socioemotional skills to augment technical capabilities.

Discover IDEA’s teacher development framework, Programming and Software Development course sequence, curriculum resources, and support materials that help teachers drive success. Learn about the systems for student enrollment and the online communities fostering collaboration among IDEA computer science educators. This session offers insights for scaling computer science education.
