Introducing Physical Computing Inputs and Outputs to Young Learners
Monday June 9, 2025 9:45am - 10:45am CDT
Young learners (ages 4+) can now learn computer science using a simple physical computing device that introduces the concept of inputs and outputs in the real world. Learners can bring their coding projects to life by interacting with the physical world. The Cog device connects to tablets or computers over Bluetooth, and includes programmable multicolor lights, a speaker, motion sensor, light sensor, IR sensors, and a push-button. The Cog can be programmed using junior blocks with pictures or traditional blocks with words. Come get hands-on and learn how to bring your creativity to life using this simple, fun device.

Humans In The Loop: A Deep Dive Into Human-AI Collaborative Development
Monday June 9, 2025 12:45pm - 1:45pm CDT
The proliferation of Artificial Intelligence has many questioning the future of human software engineering. Equipping students with the skills to effectively employ AI technologies in Human-AI partnerships is critical for their future success.

Join our hands-on session as we explore the intersections between human general intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs). We will examine how concepts such as machine learning, natural language processing, and chain of thought reasoning augment human skills. Additionally, we will reinforce the vital role of human programmers and developers in mitigating AI risk and ensuring ethical compliance with pre-established goals.

This session culminates with a Human-AI collaborative coding project, providing you with practical tools to empower your students to implement AI assisted software development projects.

Discover how to prepare the next generation of developers for a collaborative future with AI.
